Romanian brands and values will invade Times Square for 365 days starting December 1st.

The project “365 Days of Romania in Times Square” invites Romanian brands and values to participate and share powerful messages on the most iconic billboard in the world. We eagerly anticipate the involvement of brands in promoting Romania’s identity and culture globally.

The initiative is brought to life by the teams at Blindspot, Biz, and Rusu+Borțun, aiming to globally promote local values and traditions with the help of Romanian brands and companies.

Romanian brands will have the chance to live the “American Dream” and appear in Times Square. The project will launch in December 2023, coinciding with Romania’s National Day, and will conclude a year later with an editorial project by Biz, featuring detailed coverage of all 365 campaigns from brands brave enough to step out of their comfort zones and make a global impact.

As the project evolves, we will maintain constant dialogue with interested brands to ensure the messages are coordinated cohesively. This will ensure that the image of Romania projected on the world’s most iconic billboard (Nasdaq) is complex and meaningful.

The brand that will break the ice and appear in Times Square on December 1st is Arctic, the strongest Romanian brand, according to the study conducted by Unlock Market Research and Biz in 2023. Other brands such as Romstal, Vola.ro, Aqua Carpatica, Bittnet Group, Eazy Insure, Metaminds, and 5togo have already positively responded to the project and will begin their campaigns in 2024.

Through “365 Days of Romania in Times Square,” a brand, value, or Romanian product will be promoted every day for one year right in the heart of New York City. Visibility will be ensured in Romania by Biz across all media channels, and brands wishing to participate will benefit from consultancy by Brand Growers – a specialized agency in brand consultancy, design, and rhetoric.

The announcement of this project’s launch was made at the BrandRo conference by the project’s initiators—Marta Ușurelu, Matei Psatta (CMO of Blindspot), Bogdan Savonea (CEO of Blindspot), and Cătălin Rusu (CCO & CEO of Rusu+Borțun)—during which the top of the strongest Romanian brands was also revealed.
